Michael Golden Goes on Tour For Wizard--First Stop: Los Angeles

Los Angeles--TinselTown is getting just a little bit brighter this next weekend, as some of the comics communities stellar talents head West for Wizard World Los Angeles. Amongst them, Special Guest Michael Golden--who will be making his first appearance in Los Angeles, with a few surprises to highlight the event.

With recent covers on Iron Man, Exiles, Heroes for Hire, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, G.I. Joe, and the new book from writer Mitch Brown and Digital Webbing, entitled Demon's Regret, Michael is making a select number of convention appearance in 2008, and the Wizard shows had to top the list.

Known for his groundbreaking work on The 'Nam, Micronauts, G.I. Joe, Dr. Strange, Batman, and Nightwing, there has been an abundance of material on Golden springing up in the last year including Modern Masters: Michael Golden; Modern Masters: In the Studio with Michael Golden DVD; and currently coming out, the much anticipated Creator Chronicles: Michael Golden Sketch Cover DVD.

And it's just been confirmed that the extensive art book Excess: The Art of Michael Golden from Vanguard Productions has sold out and is going into a second printing with an alternate cover for the new run, sporting a voluptuous and sexy Vampirella.

To mark the occasion of his first WWLA, the renowned writer/penciler/designer will be conducting a comprehensive art class tailored just for the Wizard shows, beginning with Wizard World LA! Check it out:

Artist/Writer Michael Golden has influenced a generation of artists with his signature cinematic style, and now Wizard has him on tour! In this special seminar tailored just for Wizard attendees, Golden will discuss the evolution of his own penciling style, give tips on how to find and develop your own unique look to put you ahead of the crowd and discuss the essentials of sequential art storytelling in-depth. Bring your sequential art pages for review, as Michael will discuss the work of those in the class as well. Here's a unique chance to learn about comic illustration from one of the most touted storytellers in the field.
